The steel cord belts are used to transfer loads for long distances (up to 10 km) and to lift them by hundreds of meters. The traction framework is provided by galvanized steel cords covered with rubber mixture for correct distribution of load between the cords, absorption of local deformations and extension of service life. The rubber coating may be additionally provided with synthetic or metal breakers (“anti-cut” function). This type of high-strength belts is widely used in ports, mines, blast-furnace supply systems, etc.
