Problem:

Falling down of the workpieces when vacuum pressure is lost due to the contamination of vacuum modules with dust, wood resins, and the difficulty of cleaning them.

Solution:

Taking into account the presence of resins, the porosity of the material and the unevenness of the board, vacuum grippers of the FMHD series manufactured by Schmalz (Germany) were proposed. This type of grip was developed specifically for the woodworking industry. This vacuum system does a great job with cut and planed lumber, resinous and heavily warped wood. In addition, the FMHD gripping system is extremely easy to maintain: simple cleaning of dust and dirt, and the replacement of the suction cup and worn contact tape is carried out in the shortest possible time.

Result:

Eliminated problems with falling boards/workpieces, reduced downtime required for system maintenance (cleaning and replacement of components) by 70%.
